i'm having trouble with steinberg licensing?
i registered my steinberg key on the 27th of december, and today when i opened cubase studio 4 it told me i had 4 hours, 36 minutes and 26 seconds until i couldnt license it. im confused because i though i'd licensed it on the 27th of december when i registered it?
if i havent licensed it, could you please tell me how?
and if i have already licensed it, when the 4 hours, 36 minutes and 26 seconds on the steinberg 'dongle' runs out, will the license continue?
i'm slightly confused, but please dont talk to me like a child, cubase was expensive so i dont want to have to buy a new 'dongle' thing if it wont work after the times up ):

When you buy a software product, usually, there are 2 things you're required to do:
1. Validate your copy using your License Number
2. Register your copy.
Now, registering your software is an online activity and by that I mean, that you usually connect to the internet to register your product, but its got nothing to do with how well your software works and sometimes you can skip this action for months( I have a few software I haven't registered yet).
But, validating your copy using your license number is the MOST important thing you need to do cos every time you start Cubase on your computer, the software will check to see if your copy is valid or not? If it is unable to locate a license key, it will give you the kind of error you're seeing now.
Solution: Look up on the CD case (back side) and you'll find a long string of numbers something like. LGH13-AS982-LS765-QER3E-U77YT. This is what you need. If its not on your CD case, its gotta be on some paper you got with your software. And at the point where it shows you the error and the number of hours you have to license your product, there will be an option to enter this license key. Enter the license key there and Validate your copy and you'll see a confirmation screen and you'll live happily ever after
