What skills do you need to work in a print shop?
I am looking for part-time work around my neighborhood. There is a print shop nearby that I would love to work for, but I really am not sure what the job would entail. Anyone know? I need as much detail as possible in your answers.

When I was in high school, we had print shop. There were about 20 of us in the class. It lasted 2 hours once a week. Here’s what I remember:
1) We had to wear old clothes or clothes we didn‘t care about what happened to them or didn‘t happen to them.
As time passed, we got dirtier. This was due to the inks we used.
2) There was a BIG rack or case with ALL the letters, numbers and other characters needed to print the school’s paper.
3) We HAD to KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY spell.
4) For almost the entire class, we had to be on our feet.
5) When class was just about over, we were allowed to get cleaned-up and change into the clothes the school required as part of the dress code [This was a public school system - not a parochial or private school.].
My Suggestion: Go to that shop and ask for a tour. It’s the only way you’re going to see the back of the shop. THAT’S where THE REAL work takes place.
If it appeals to you, one afternoon wait by the back door or the front door. As the folks leave for the day, talk with them about what they do, how they do it and [they may not tell you this] how much they earn.
