How do I get Win XP to accept scanner hardware/software for Mustek 600 III EP Plus?
Older ver software for Win 3.1x/95/NT. Scanner uses (printer) parallel port. Software install freezes near end of installation.

Mustek tech support dialogue where they admit this device will never work with XP. For those who don't wish to read the entire reply, Mustek offered to sell a new XP compliant scanner at a discount. See the prices in the text. So don't waste your time with this hardware if you have XP SP2.

[Visitor] Cannot get the unit to work with the Mustek supplied drivers following the instructions for cleaning the old drivers and installing the XP compliant ones from the FAQ. Message received when trying to Acquire is LOAD FAIL in a message box that does not come from the Windows API. I expect it is from the Twain driver. Can you help to get this unit working. I cannot revert the systems in place to pre SP2 or an older OS.

We really would recommend you getting a newer scanner working on this newer system. This scanner will not work
On Windows XP and also Windows 2000 because it is a different type of operating system from Windows 98 and 95.
The scanner was only made to work with and older operating system. Not many Parallel scanners work on XP. Please give us a call on 1-800-308-7226, we can sell you a brand new scanner for $79.99 with free shipping, also it will include new software
and also works find on XP. That is the better way to go
The model of the scanner is the BP 2400 TA Plus .
